The Envoy is GMC's mid-size truck-based sport-utility vehicle, powered by V6 or V8 engines. Standard on Envoy SLE and SLT models is a 285-horsepower, 4.2-liter in-line 6-cylinder engine, while Envoy Denali models get a 300-horsepower, 5.3-liter V8. Three trim levels are available for 2009: the base SLE (or SLE1), SLT1, or the top-of-the-line SLT2. Just as for 2008, all trims are powered by a 3.6L DOHC V6 direct-injection engine that makes 288 horsepower (up from 275), and 270 pound-feet of torque, which is spread over a broad rpm range.
