The SLR McLaren looks like it was built with speed in mind, and the engine lives up to that promise. The 5.4L supercharged V8 has 617 hp and 575 lb-ft of torque with a 5-speed automatic transmission that can be controlled with paddle shifters. The 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL is offered in four variants: the V8-powered SL550 and V12-powered SL600, the new SL63 AMG, which replaces the SL55 AMG and the SL65 AMG.
